we aim to encourage, in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, a greater awareness of the history and methods of whisky-making, as well as to promote, discuss and share whiskies from around the world.

the vancouver chapter hosts regular events at which 5-7 different whiskies are presented by knowledgeable members and special guest speakers. tasting events are held at local venues; some events may be held virtually.

  • the vancouver chapter has taken the companions concept to the next level.

companions plus gathers like-minded whisky aficionados four times per year to sample unique and rare, mostly single-cask and cask-strength, whiskies from scotland and around the world.

each gathering, usually held on a friday or saturday evening, typically includes an entertaining and educational tasting of up to six whiskies and appetizers. events are limited to a maximum of 14 guests (on a first-come, first-served basis). locations vary.

companion plus events typically cost $250/person. a year-end dinner event is held at which time any whiskies not consumed during the year may be sampled. the cost for this is typically $95-$125 per person.

themes in the past years have included pairs, bourbon vs sherry casks, 30+ year, ancient single grains, silent distilleries, and old and rare drams.
